Today at green-stairs we had a class trip to the fair oaks police station. When I first learnt of it in the morning from my mom I was really excited because it would be a once in a lifetime experience. Also, me and my dad used to watch a police show called the rookie and I loved it.
Once we got there we were greeted then directed to a room where they had a tv and a presentation set up for us. I had no idea that they would do all of that for us. I really enjoyed learning how much types of police there are and how I could start a journey into the force with several different programs for kids.
After their presentation about stuff for kids, what’s on there belt, why we shouldn’t be afraid of them, ETC was over they took us to the interrogation rooms. It was so cool to see, one of the officers named chuck told us how they used to have a jail in the station but it got removed. That made me very surprised and curious to why. I very much annoyed learning about the interrogation rooms.
The final thing we did was go to their squad car. They gave us a tour of it and I even got to sit inside it. There was so many cool things to learn in it and I was really excited to go in it. After a bit chuck turned on the siren for us which was really cool.
The overall experience was amazing and when I’m older I might to be an officer. Because I love dogs. I felt very happy with the experience I had today and I am very grateful of all the police officers out there everyday risking their lives for our safety.
I very much appreciate my teacher for bringing me and the officers that gave us a tour and taught us. I am very content with the experience of getting to be in a police station and learning what it means to be a police officer. After everything I went home early because I had to go out for Mother’s Dayq
