JS-14-F-KJMS WEEK 2
Today I came to class late because my brother said we were supposed to pick up our classmate and take him to class but we realized he wasn’t at his house and somehow he was already at the mosque.
When I arrived, LG told S’s dad to test me and CH on our prayer worksheet so we went out of the classroom. CH knew everything except for the last four duas and I knew everything except for the last two duas.
When we finished with that, we went back to the classroom for about two minutes before we got in the cars we were taking to go to the fair oaks police station.
We went there for a field trip and when we got there they had a presentation set up for us. I think their names were tweet, Beth, and chuck. The main lesson I got from the field trip was that you shouldn’t be afraid of police, and it’s bad to stereotype them just like people stereotype Muslims for things that certain individuals may have done.
We didn’t bring our notebooks so I don’t have the best memory of what we did but the officers were very nice. They went over what kind of different jobs they have at the station, what different dogs do, what they do, and more.
We went to the interview rooms where they put the criminals and try to get more information out of them. And then we went outside to see a police car. One of the officers showed us some cool stuff like the lights and the spotlight and he showed us the backseats where they put people that they arrest. The backseat was made of plastic so it’s easier to clean up because a lot of people they arrest could be under the influence or sick. Next to the driver’s seat was a square with buttons that play the siren sounds.
There is one siren that has such a low pitch so that even people with the stereo on can hear it. It can’t be played while the car is still so we didn’t get to here it. We also took turns sitting in the driver seat while playing with the spotlight.
After the field trip was over me and my brother left class early and went to the mall with my family for Mother’s Day.
