YA, 13, JML

Today we were 15 minutes late to class. When we got in class we prayed two cycles of prayer. After praying we revised the dua and sura we learned. I was getting ready to test out. LG called me and then he told me to test out tashahhud and durood with the meanings. He also told me to read allahummaghfirli but I didn’t know it properly so I went back to memorize more. I accidently memorized the first three lines which we weren’t supposed to memorize. We were supposed to memorize the bottom 4 lines. I went to LG to test out again but like i said i memorized the part we weren’t supposed to memorize so he told me to go back and memorized the bottom line. After I finished memorizing the bottom line in LG to test out again, I got it right. I’m done with all the surahs and duas except for maun. LG told me in the next class if I test out the whole double sized page properly and also maun then I will be in level 2. Which is exciting.
We all lined our chairs and took our notebooks and pens to get ready for the speaking session. The most exciting part of today was there were two visitors named Ms.J and Mr.C. They both reverted to islam. They also live in Argentina. Both of them shared their stories of how they found islam and more. Mr.C talked about a book. Mr.C used to live in Springfield and he was Christian. One day he came to this mosque and he talked to Alge about islam.
In 2018 Ms.J had cancer and that time she was questioning religion and wanted to learn more about religion. She had the belief that there is only one god. She found islam and researched islam. She converted to islam in online. Alge asked us what’s the difference between us and Ms J, Mr. C. The difference is since we were kids we knew we were muslim and we think that we are muslim even when we don’t know about islam the right way or get more knowledge about islam but Ms.J and Mr.C they wanted to learn about islam and research about to islam to get knowledge. They of course learned so much and everything makes sense to them that’s why they reverted to islam. They know more about islam than us. We also talked about how to earn a thousand points to Allah by talking to Allah 5 times a day, feeding the poor and doing the stuff Allah told us to. Even if we don’t know how to pray we can always talk to Allah by saying how grateful we are for waking up everyday, getting food to eat, clothes to wear and more. We also talked about “Muz-luum” , a movie we watched. In that movie we saw the father was really strict about islam to his child. He thought he was teaching his child about islam but he didn’t know that his teaching was turning his child away from islam. The child went to a islamic school and he used to read the Quran not knowing the meaning of the Quran and what he was reading. The teaching of that school used to beat the students if they did something that they weren’t supposed to do. One day that kid went outside on Halloween night and when he got back the teacher knew that he went outside for halloween. The teacher beat the kid so much. As the kid grew up his idea of islam became bad. When he went to college he got bad influenced. We also learned about phone connection. In order for us to talk to someone on the phone we have to get a phone first then connection. After getting a phone and connection then we can talk to a person on the phone. It’s like praying. We can’t start talking to Allah before we calm our mind and focus on Allah like Allah is in front of us.

Accountability: Everything we do wrong or right we have to take accountability for our actions.
We also learned why the quran is important. The Quran gives advice but we have to know how to fit it in life.
