Yesterday I went to greenstairs leadership academy like I have been the last few months. I slept in and woke up around 8:50, when soon after my dad checked in on me so he could wake me up. On the other hand my sister did get woken up by him. I asked him if class started at 9:00 or 9:30 because it sometimes switches to which he responds with 9:30. We got ready and left around 9:30 so we would have been late anyway. 

When me and my sister walked in we saw lots of people which was surprising. I then found out that class had started at 9 and I was really late. Everyone was testing and LG told me to do what I always do then get ready to test. I prayed then started to study. I saw R standing outside and we studied together by quizzing each other. Soon after O’s dad came out and tested us to see if we were ready to test with LG. He told me to review a few more times then test with LG. After reviewing for a while I checked with H’s and Z’s mom who told me I was ready. When i went to LG to test he said that testing is over and we would sit in a line.

When I put my chair in the line I sat  next to 2 of the new guys. One i didnt get a name and Y. LG asked the 2 guests we had to come next to him and give us their backstories. C is a revert( i will tell you why it’s not converted in a bit) he is from Argentina but was born in NY. His wife J I forgot where she was from but she lives in Argentina with charlie she is also a revert. The reason they are reverts is because the first human Prophet Adam was muslim so every one once was a muslim. They told us about their journeys as reverts and why they switched.

We talked about  a movie that some of the class watched last class when I wasn’t here. Also, we talked about how people get addicted by trying drugs or alcohol and thinking I’ve never felt like this before. I want to try more. Then they keep taking more and more and it’s not good for them. J said that her family offers her a sip of alcohol but she rejects it because it’s haram and they question by saying not even a little sip.

Then LG told us that the people that have been at greenstairs have to make a ten minute presentation about the Quran.

It can be whatever we want about it. For the new people they have to make a ten minute presentation about whatever they want. For me i fall into the first group and my presentation about the quran is que in 3 weeks.

He said we can use chat gpt to strengthen our points but not for the whole thing.

We talked about how chat gpt was not really good which i forgot alot about. Then we were asked what our goal in life as muslims. Y said to pray to allah and to worship him which was really wrong. The real answer was to make ourselves better, better others and make the world a better place for everyone in it. There is a poster on the wall that says that. After that we packed up and talked for a bit with each other then left.
