(actual note(s) from student(s)) submitted within one week of class –
I walked into the class, and was told to do 6 cycles of prayer’s instead of the 2 we do normally. We were told to say the Surah’s in Arabic once, and English 5 times.
After that, we went into testing, and checking homework. Since no one did their homework, we had the chance to stand up and study for a little to try to do the test, but I wasn’t ready. Afterward, we all started talking about the speech that the Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan gave, and we all were given paragraphs to read, he taught us how to give a speech correctly, and when to pause, etc.
After, we went into taking about the news, we talked about Amber, the female cop who shot a black man for no apparent reason. We talked about how she only got 10 years in prison, while other murderers get life in prison.
Another topic we talked about was about this girl named Tera Bloomer, she wore spaghetti straps and shorts to school, her parents called her a slut, and a prostitute, but the girl never listened to them. Something I learned was that you should have a balance in everything such as how you dress. You shouldn’t dress too much , but you also don’t want to dress too little. Another thing I learned was how the Quran isn’t a drug, and how it doesn’t work through your bloodstream, but instead it works through your soul. I also learned how Allah took the responsibility of keeping the Quran safe, and didn’t tell someone else to do it.
I learned how the Quran was split into 30 parts, and how the Quran was first revealed in a cave. Finally, class ended at around 1:30, and I went home after praying in the mosque.
