LEVEL TWO OBJECTIVES

 

ISLAMIC PRACTICE

  1. Test out on Level 1 page every week
  2. Learn 10 new suras from Just Amma (114 downwards)
  3. Perform both Fajr and Zohar prayers under supervision
  4. Master the wudhu process
  5. Learn ongoing practice pointers topically
  6. Attend at least one funeral process

 

ARABIC

  1. Be capable of reading at least ANY two pages of the quraan with fluency
  2. Conduct an Arabic conversation up to 5 sentences
  3. Write from memory ANY level one surah

 

ISLAMIC HISTORY

  1. Recap of all prophets done to date
  2. In Depth review of Prophet M’s life within the framework of about one dozen relevant themes
  3. Simple discussion of his life on a factual basis

 

ISLAMIC PRINCIPLES

  1. Explain Process of codification of the Quraan
  2. Explain the methodology of piecemeal revelations
  3. Discuss the Quran in the context of ½ dozen major themes
  4. Divide the Quran into easy to teach modules – e.g Meccan suras v Medina Surahs and make students recognize each surah for it’s period
  5. Contextually discuss each surah within the following framework

A  –  Time frame of revelation

B  –  Discussion of contents within the framework of major Quranic themes

 

CURRENT AFFAIRS

Discuss ANY topic that students want to find topics that are in the news. Apply a common sense framework to the discussion

 

INTERFAITH

Attend at least two events hosted by other faiths and host at least two events for persons from other faith

 

 

GIVING

Have each student complete at least two modules of two hours each of community service

Visit the sick at least once in a group of two
