2025 Sep – RB – M -12 – Week of Sep 7

This Sunday I went to Sunday school, and it turned out to be one of the most interesting days I’ve ever had in a while. Usually when I go I expect to just sit, listen and maybe take some notes. but this time was different, because I actually learned a lot of new things that I had never thought about before. On top of that I got to play ping pong with my friends and eat pizza which made the whole day even better.

Our teacher also talks about important skills we should build like projecting or voice, being confident but not too confident, and training ourselves to be more efficient. He explains that confidence is something you can practice like raising your hand in class or Standing Tall. Projecting your voice means speaking clearly so people can hear you, not just yelling efficiently means you are using your time wisely and focusing on what really matters. I thought this was really helpful and I want to start working on these things myself.

When we first started one of the students taught me about the points we earned from doing good deeds in Islam. he explained that if you have more than 1,200 points you can cross the bridge to Jannah which is Paradise. But even if you did lots of good things you would still have to return anything you took from someone like money or if it hurt them and they never forgave you that would count against you. He also said that if anyone owed you something like money or even just an apology they would lose 50 points from that. Points can also be taken away if you did bad things such as stealing or cheating.

In the middle of the day I played a game that was kind of like Ping Pong but different instead of hitting the ball back and forth we had to try throwing a ping pong balls into cups whoever got the most balls inside of the cup with win at first I wasn’t very good but after a while I started to get the hang of it and it ended up being one of my favorite parts of the of the day.

Later we did our studies and ate pizza at the same time. It was nice because we got to learn while also enjoying our food and it made the lesson feel a little easier to focus on. The pizza gave me some energy before we went on with the  rest of the day.

At the end of the day I felt like I learned a lot about this Sunday and not just about Islam but also about how I can become a better version of myself. Before I left everybody got homework but depending on how far you had gotten into the page that he assigned us, that’s the homework you would have. My homework was to make sure I did my prayers properly and also to make sure I knew chapter 1  in English.
