2025 Sep RB M 12 Week 4 Sep 28,2025

Today I went to Sunday school. As usual, the first thing I did before entering the classroom was say Salam to my teacher and do my two recitals. I always try to start off the day right away by doing them first. Today felt a little different though because more people showed up than last week.

The class seemed fuller than normal, and I could tell the teacher wanted to make sure everybody was caught up. One of the main things we did was work on memorizing or double-sided paper. Honestly I think I did pretty well on it. The paper includes different surahs in both English and Arabic, and we had to recite them back to him from memory that took up a big part of the day, but I did not mind too much because I was proud of myself for keeping up with it. It was a challenge, but I felt like I understood it better than I expected.

After that, our teacher told us to set up the seats in rows.  He used the time to do a recap of everything we had learned so far. I think he did not want anyone to fell behind while he was recapping, he also reminded us of some important rules. For example, he told us that whenever we’re presenting, we should always be standing. That made sense to me, because standing shows respect and confidence when you are  talking in front of others. He also said that our job as a Muslim is to make the world a better place, while the devil’s  job is to stop us from doing that. That really stood out to me, because it explained why we always have to try harder to stay on the right path.

Something new that I learned was that we shouldn’t listen to the Quran word for word. He used prophet Muhammad’s advice to always check your  shoes before putting them on in case there are scorpions inside as an example. But here in Virginia, we don’t have to worry about scorpions, so that advice doesn’t apply the same way. Instead, he said that people may need to check for ice in their shoes in extremely cold places like Finland. That explained how different environments affect how we practice certain things, which I found to be cool.

Later on, I got to present with another student. We worked together to do another recap for the students that weren’t here last week. The teacher wanted us to understand that we need to know the meaning behind what we’re doing, especially in prayer. He reminded us that when we pray to Allah, we shouldn’t just rush through the words. We need to take our time and understand what we’re saying, and take it seriously. that Parts made me realize the Importance of prayer.

Towards the end of the day, our teacher told us that soon everyone would have to do a 10 minute presentation on a topic of our choice but we always we had to make sure that with our teacher he was okay with it I thought about it for a while and I picked a subject that of the left and right side of the brain. I thought that would be interesting to research and talk about. I’m a little nervous, but I think I’ll be do just fine

Finally, before we left we played a little bit of ping pong. That was nice, it was a nice way to relax after a long day of learning and presenting. Overall, Sunday school today was busy but also really meaningful. I learned a lot of new things and even got ready for a future project. I felt proud of myself by the end of the day, and I cannot wait to see what next week brings
